Hello there, are you familiar with “Photo SFXart Tricks” (search on Google for it)? On their website you will find a good free video demonstrating how you can take incredible photographs. This helped Daniel to take pictures that leave you with a jaw-dropping-effect after you look at them. I hope it will work for you as well…

Can someone tell me why my images look different after i click process them on Photomatix?

I am not saying what he did makes the image a none HDR image, I am saying In my opinion the sky and awning would look better keeping these portions of the image blended HDR. Look at other HDR images of the sky, the effect looks beautiful. Replacing the HDR blended images with just one exposure is a short cut, The rest of the photo has a stylized HDR look, the sky does not. it would look more interesting to remove the noise and leave the HDR blended sky in place. yes, it is a bit more work.

By your comment you don’t seem to fully realise what HDR is. He has replaced the elements with different exposures of the elements this means it is still ‘HDR’ he is just manually choosing the exposure. HDR is the combination of multiple exposures. It is not solely a stylistic effect.

TylerART says:

I want to comment on the awning and the sky. (EnjoyableApps) If you pay attention to the video you will notice I chose different exposures for both the sky and awning. Just like a HDR algorithm works to produce a greater dynamic range. My process was just a manual one. You should watch my first video if you want to see a full HDR image processed outside of Photoshop.

TylerART says:

Well you are entitled to your own opinion.

EnjoyableApps says:

Great video but you replaced the HDR sky and awning with a non HDR sky and awning? I would think there would be a better way to fix this as i have seen many great HDR images with great looking sky. kind ruined the look of these elements in my opinion.
