A Good support system is one of the more important things you can invest in. It can also be one of the more expensive ones. B&H gave me a hand in searching for affordable tripods for DSLR video work. All Links Here:

Hello there, have you heard of “photo SFX art” (do a Google search for it)? On their website you will find a good free video showing the right way to shoot amazing pictures. This helped Daniel to shoot photos which leave you with a jaw-dropping-effect when you look at them. Perhaps it will help you also…

heighth? do you mean height?

Your ears get REALLY red towards the end.

MaghoxFr says:

Great video, it almost convinced me to get the Provista. But I?m concerned about the rubber ends of the legs, are they any good? Also, does it have any advantage over the Davis & Sanford ProVista Airlift Tripod with Pneumatic Centerpost with FM18 Fluid Head? Thanks

Steven Scott says:

Very nice and through review! I really like that you pointed out the pros and cons on each tripod and that you recommended possible uses for each. I agree seeing the Davis and Sanford Provista 7518 looks to be the best for video out of the four and still could be used quite handily for still photography without being so huge that it just wouldn’t be unreasonable to use in that application.

Cameron F says:

How would the Provista 7518 compare to something like a Ravelli AVTP?

UpintheWuds says:

What is the rig you are using there?

U13berchemsport says:

Just bought one, but is not as fluid as shown in the review. Pretty stiff actually,
any tips?

Anthony Vaccaro says:

pretty jealous of all your gear :/

TheForgeShow says:

The D&S ProVista is $40 off right now… Yup… No need to do any more research. Bought.

3dMations says:

what would you say? Davis & Sanford Provista 7518 or Manfrotto 701HDV Videoneiger+MVT502AM

SteezBear1 says:

What lens do you have on your 7D ?

Tapos Bd says:

Hi there, do you know “Photo SFXart Tricks” (do a Google search for it)? There you can watch a great free video showing the way to take fantastic photographs. It made it possible for Matt to shoot pictures which have that jaw-dropping-effect any time you take a look at them. It might help you out too…

CamiloChannel1 says:

i hate my budget

niggardlyways says:

Yeah, and for about $40 or so more you can he a truely AWESOME amazing setup by purchasing a Manfrotto 701HDV Fluid Video Head for $124 and mount it to a Manfrotto 055XPROB for $139. So for just about $250 you have something amazing. And the Manfrotto 055XPROB does some truly amazing things with the center column, and it’s extremely sturdy. The Manfrotto 701HDV is AMAZING also….

What are you going to do dlmahtani7? If you find a better tripod with a comparable price I would love to hear about it. One of the biggest things that drew me to this tripod is the height and the price. Just make sure to fill out and mail in the warranty card that comes with it if you do decide to go with this one.

Todd-Michael Johnson says:

I returned it to Amazon in exchanged for a new one. I’ve had the new one for about a week and have used it a little bit. So far it hasn’t broken! It really bums me out because everything else about this tripod is fantastic, especially for the price. I’m just going to hang on to this until the leg locks break again (which I assume will happen eventually), then use the warranty to get a new one. I wish this company would design new legs and sell them separately so I can throw this head onto them.

Glenn Morre Trinidad says:

Hi! Planning to get a video tripod this weekend, do you have any ideoa regarding this two model, the Benro KH25 and Davis & Sanford V12 FLuid plus cheapo weifeng carbon fiber tripod. Hope you can help me cause i’m havin a dilemma on this two setup.. tia

dlmahtani7 says:

Same thing happened to me! Are you claiming warranty or returning the tripod?

Ruben Pecina says:

anyone know if that last tripod has the feature at 12:35 with that gray tripod

hilllbilllyjoe says:

thank you!

Todd-Michael Johnson says:

My Davis and Sanford tripod arrived today. After testing it out for 30 minutes one of the leg locks snapped off into 2 pieces. The good news is it comes with a 10 year warranty. Still, it irks me that it broke so easily. I’ve read some customer reviews on amazon who had a similar experience. On the bright side the action on it is super smooth and the maximum height is pretty good. You can even fold the legs in more and make it even higher. I also bought a tripod dolly which adds some height.

dlmahtani7 says:

That’s exactly my issue. I’m being forced to look particularly for tripods that are 78″. I have a short tripod and it ticks the hell outta me.
But I guess the reason they make these tripods so short is because they are to be used with other studio gear like a dolly or something.

Todd-Michael Johnson says:

Why do they make the maximum height on most tripods so short? Wouldn’t you want them to come up to at least 6 feet to match eye-lines? I’m considering buying the Davis and Sanford Provista, but I’m concerned this will be an issue, as it’s maximum height is only 64″. Any thoughts?

OnlyTheMostRandomest says:

Where did you get your 7518?

dlmahtani7 says:

1) Pearstone VT-2100 $59.95 at 1:00
2) Bescor TH-770 $159.95 at 6:25
3) Matthews M35 $169.95 at 12:05
4) Davis & Sanford Provista 7518 $189.95 at 19:54
There. Saved y’all some time.

Javier Pantoja says:

you are awesome buddy, much love and respect from San Diego CA

OzzyAmir says:

You should do a feature on that camera rig you’re using in the video!

dolphinnightmare says:

Very good review! Thank you!

tnima says:

for real lol

Matt Buckler says:

Can anyone tell me which is the best one…? so I don’t have to sit through 30 minutes of tripod talk! :-/

Matchopeur45 says:

Who says we have a rig ? :p

Todd-Michael Johnson says:

Does anyone here own the Davis and Sanford tripod in this video? If so, does the tripod hold up over time?

Ebong Adil says:

Hi, are you familiar with “PhotoSFXart” (just google it)? There you can watch a smart free video demonstrating the best way to take fantastic photographs. This helped Daniel to shoot pictures that leave you with a wow-effect any time you take a look at them. It may help you out too.

Jamie Sherron says:

Do all of these tripods have fluid heads?

tueybooo says:

Btw, the redrockmicro shoulder pad can slide onto any manfrotto style tripod head. No need to attach a baseplate to the it.
