Tony Northrup says:

There’s no one set of settings that will work in every condition. Read Chapters 4 and 10 of Stunning Digital Photography to learn how to best expose night and star shots.

NikMetalEx says:

Very pleasant and informative video, thank you.

Benjamin Goluboff says:

Hi, the other night i was far from the city and i wanted to capture the milky way but my camera wasn’t able to. What should be the camera settings for that kind of shot?

Gordon Jackson says:

Hi Tony, can you direct me to the readers part of Facebook? I have bought the ebook and downloaded but still can’t seem to find the part of Facebook mentioned.
Many Thanks in advance.
Gordon

Tony Northrup says:

If you can see the stars with your eyes, you’ll be able to get some star trails. The clearer the sky, the more stars you’ll be able to capture in your photo, and the clearer they’ll be.

It’s worth a shot. If nothing else, you’ll be ready the next time you’re out of town.

Rob Forest says:

Is there anyway to get past a cloudy area? I live in a fairly industrial town, so there is a lot of sky pollution:/
