Dude, seriously turn your focus confirm beep off.

Dave Nunn says:

Hi, thanks for the kind comments 🙂 I just have the habit of focussing like that, probably because I always focus and recompose my shots?!

Best Wishes

Dave.

mix955 says:

Damn most of the photos were taken with no flash?! Wow you are an amazing photographer, how come you focused so many times before taking the shot?

Dave Nunn says:

Maryzplace says:

Enjoyed your video’s so much so, that I am watching for the 3rd time…I was asked at the last minute to be the wedding photographer at a friends daughters wedding…I am a landscape photographer and about 8 month’s decided to get into portraiture photography. Watching your video’s has been very inspirational, and has taught me a lot. I hadn’t planned on doing weddings, but I couldn’t say no, to someone I watched grow up. Thanks Dave.

Dave Nunn says:

Hi, and many thanks for your kind comments. OCF is cool, I tend to use that early evening depending on skies etc. Video light has something a little special I love 🙂

Cheers

Dave.

protogrob says:

Like the use of the video light 🙂 I mainly use off camera flash which can take time to set up the shots I want but looks like using a video light might be a better solution to a lot of my natural light shots.

Well done Dave great video and use of natural light in a very cramped and dark environment 🙂

Dave Nunn says:

That’s a Lowel ID video light Bob …..

Cheers

Dave.

Bob Lee Swager says:

Hi Dave, What is the name of the constant light that you used in this video ?

Best Wishes

Dave.

Cristian Lopez says:

Seeing is believing, I’ve been searching on how to shoot a wedding on youtube and found this priceless video. One thing I’ve learned is that the main photographer must to be with the bride 100% of the time. second don’t overthing thinks, think of it as another assigment, don’t put a lot of pression on yourself. thank you so much sir

lagook says:

i wouldnt use the word better, easier maybe

Dave Nunn says:

Cheers Jeff 🙂

Dave.

Jeff Lappin says:

I was interested to see, you used a video light for fill. Never new that would be better than flash. Nice..

Dave Nunn says:

Thanks for the comment and glad you enjoyed the videos 🙂

Best Wishes

Dave.

Hi Dave!I seeing your videos again and again and i find it so good and so usefull!I wiil take my first job of my cousin wedding and i am very nervous and your videos are so hellpfull!Τhank you so much!

Dave Nunn says:

Hi, thanks for the kind comment. I don’t know a lot about Nikon so wouldn’t offer advice on those two bodies. Google will give you a lot of info. The two things I would look for is good focussing and good noise control at high ISO’s, especially for weddings.

Best Wishes

Dave.

34Muflon says:

Dave Nunn says:

Hi Mike, nowhere near enough room here for all the advice I could give !! Just relax as much as possible, try to plan when you are doing formals, Bride and Groom session, group shot etc etc before the day, mainly so your B&G know what’s happening on the day. Don’t panic if you miss something as it can throw the best laid plans out of the window !! Make sure you have some back up kit ….

Hope this helps a little and good luck with the wedding

Best Wishes

Dave.

krazymceg says:

hi dave, roughly how many shots did you do for this wedding total?

Dave Nunn says:

Hi Andy, I will be using my 5DII’s for at least another season. However, if money is no problem then go for the newer model ……. Always nice to have the latest gear 🙂

Cheers

Dave.

DIESEL MC says:

G’day Dave I want to buy myself another canon camera body . I have the canon 5d mkii and I don’t know weather to get another canon 5D MK ii or get the Canon 5D MK iiii. What advice can you give me. Thanks. Andy

TomJesper says:

Thankfully it’s family, so that takes a little of the pressure off! Thats great advice, thank you so much! im nibbling my nails with nerves! Im sure once I get there I’ll be ok!

Thank you!

Dave Nunn says:

Hi, the light is a lowel ID video light, and yes it’s tungsten. The image in front of the window was colour balanced for the light, therefore, turning everything daylight blue ….

Best Wishes

Dave.

yeahdude1986 says:

Dave, what kind of light is that your partner is painting the couple with it adds a very nice effect! Is it a tungsten of some type? I ask because there was the picture of her in front of the window and all the light is blue except for the light given off by that bulb.

Dave Nunn says:

Hi Tom, thanks for the kind comments. You have some cool kit, so no problems there 🙂 As for feeling awkward, don’t !! You have been hired to do a job, that makes you a major part of the wedding. Best advice is to let the day flow, let the B&G spend time with their guests, take lots of natural shots from the background. Also pre-plan your B&G session and group shots so the B&G know what to expect during the day.

Good luck with the next wedding and Christening

Cheers

Dave.

TomJesper says:

Hi Dave, love your videos! How do you avoid feeling awkward in wedding situations? Ive only shot 1 and HATED every second of it, felling i was in the way, or making too much noise, it really disgrunteled me! However Ive been asked to shoot a christening and wedding for family members this year and have said yes, so any tips would be appreciated! I have a 50 1.8, 17-40L and 70-200 2.8, will be shooting on a 40D for christening and 6D or 5Diii for the wedding! Thanks in advance

Dave Nunn says:

Hi Miguel, thank you for your kind comments. The light is a Lowel ID video light, and I always use the 100w bulb with it. Best Wishes, Dave.

“Hola Miguel, gracias por sus amables comentarios. La luz es un identificador Lowel luz de video, y yo siempre uso el bulbo 100w con él. Los mejores deseos, Dave.”

Miguel Angel Ruiz Badía says:

Hola Dave, he visto que tu ayudante te ilumina la escena con una antorcha de luz contínua, me puedes decir que tipo o marca es y su potencia? Gracias, he visto tus cuatro videos y son excelentes, saludos.
